Welfare Dogs looking for a home

On this page are some dogs that we are looking to re-home. If you feel that you could give one or more of these dogs a home then please contact Ros Dyer on 07766 797257.

Dog 1

M1 – entire male, 8yrs old, black. Lovely natured boy who is quite independent but loves a fuss! M1 and M2 (below) have very sad backgrounds – their elder owners gave them up thinking that someone else could provide them with a better home. Unfortunately their new home was not able to do this, and the two dogs came into Welfare after several months of neglect. It has taken weeks of careful feeding and TLC to get M1 into good condition. Although he looks thin, he is now fit and will happily do a good walk. As he has not been neutered (and is probably a bit too old now) he would be better in a home without another male dog unless it was quite submissive. He does enjoy the company of other dogs, so would like to go with a bitch or – best of all - his long-term playmate M2. Good with children but a big lad so not suitable with toddlers.

Dog 2

M2 – neutered (?) 8yr old bitch, black. M2 looks like a puppy, although she is actually middle-aged. She is a very affectionate dog and loves to lean on your leg, then slide down for you to rub her tummy. She and M1 have been together a long time, and she is quite protective of him. Once she gets to know other dogs and bitches she is good with them and likes their company. A long period of neglect followed by inexpert shaving means her coat is still very short and in poor condition. She and M1 would ideally go together. She is also good with children.

Dog 3

B1 – 5yr old entire male, black. B1 is a lively dog who loves playing with his toys and needs a lot of exercise. He gets on well with bitches but not with dogs, and benefits from the reassurance an older bitch gives him. He is very excitable so cannot go with young children.

Dog 4

L1 – 6yr old black bitch, not spayed. L1 is a lovely, gentle girl who just wants her home comforts. She is used to children and mixes well with other dogs
